Democracy Forum is WERU's monthly public affairs program that presents engaging topics in participatory democracy (every third Friday, 10-11 a.m.) The program is a collaboration of WERU and League of Women Voters of-Downeast.
The winning installment of the Democracy Forum is entitled "Immigration: Can We Live Without It?" This program explores the positive impact that immigration has on economic development and workplace Maine. The award was presented at the annual MAB Awards Banquet on September 22nd in Augusta. Congratulations to the all-volunteer team at the LWV-Downeast who plan and coordinate the program: Starr Gilmartin, Maggie Harling, Linda Hoskins, Sheila Kirby, Ann Luther (program host), Maryann Ogonowski, Pam Person, Leah Taylor, and Linda Washburn!

WERU Community Radio is an independent, noncommercial, educational media organization. Its mission is to engage with the community to provide diverse music, entertainment and alternative news and public affairs programming, with emphasis on local people, issues and cultures.
