The Youth Council is currently planning a panel focused on youth leaders who have done important work in campaigns, legislation, and really any kind of political activism in Maine. The general purpose of the panel is to show the importance of youth taking charge of movements in politics with resilience and hard work.
Inspiration for the panel was taken from watching many of the webinars facilitated by Democracy Maine some of which had one younger person among other older adults. It was important to hear about from the various perspectives and ages of those featured in the workshops but thinking about what it would look like if all those featured were passionate youth was how this panel was born.
