Our Priority Bills
We opposed this bill because it would have required photo ID in order to vote. Maine has safeguards in place to prevent fraud, cyber attacks, and other kinds of foul play that would attempt to subvert our elections.
We opposed this harmful bill because it would have prevented trans girls from participating in school athletics. We oppose anti-trans policies. Every child has the right to belong and participate in their chosen sport.
We opposed this bill because it would have repealed the National Popular Vote (NPV) Interstate Agreement, which Maine joined just last year. We have endorsed NPV since 2019.
We supported this bill because it will allow Clean Election candidates to use MCEA funds to cover caregiving expenses during the campaign. Privately-funded candidates have the option to use campaign funds for caregiving expenses, why not Clean Election candidates?
This year, we joined the Mainers for Tax Fairness coalition and supported this bill. It would have added a tax increase for those earning more than $1 million in order to fund the state's public education system.
We supported this bill because it would have expanded Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) to state legislative and gubernatorial general elections before the November 2026 election.
