You are invited to a to a special opening night and 50 year tribute on International Women’s Day. Join other supporters of the Equal Rights Amendment and enjoy the play followed by a discussion and reception.

The play, What the Constitution Means to Me, is informative, interactive, and inspiring with important connections to the many Constitutional questions before the Supreme Court including abortion, sexual violence, immigration and more.

Filled with humor and history, this Pulitzer Prize finalist asks what the U.S. Constitution truly means. As a 15-year-old, Heidi Schreck won debate competitions defending the Constitution across the country.

As an adult, she resurrects her teenage self to investigate its profound effect on four generations of women in her family. This exhilarating show culminates in a live debate with an actual teen, allowing audiences to weigh in on the Constitution’s impact on our daily lives.

2019 Tony Award nominee and winner of the Obie Award, Off- Broadway Alliance Award, and New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award.

This is a special screening. Click here to purchase your tickets.

Equal Rights Maine, Maine Women’s Lobby, the national ERA
Coalition and Ms. magazine are the evening’s hosts. ERA leaders
will provide an update on a pathway to putting the ERA into the
Constitution through U.S. House of Representatives and Senate
Joint Resolutions recognizing the ERA as the 28th Amendment to
the Constitution in this important Congressional session fifty years
after its introduction and passage.
