Proportional Representation: Better Elections for a Better Scarborough!

Proportional election methods were designed to ensure that a council or board is broadly representative of the electorate. In this session, we'll explore how an update to our elections could provide a more fully representative Town Council and School Board.

The League of Women Voters of Maine supports the use of proportional ranked choice voting (pRCV) in elections for multi-member municipal bodies because it more reliably delivers proportional representation than Maine's commonly used election methods. Learn more about pRCV here.
