Action Under the Dome For Monday, January 16

Monday, January 16, 2023
Jen Lancaster

King worked for a modern, multiracial democracy that would dismantle the old rules of white supremacy and lay the foundations for Black liberation and equality. This struggle continues today as we resist forms of voter suppression and discrimination. Racism is an issue that, nationally, has never been fully rectified.

Even though voter engagement has increased in recent years, minority voices are still suppressed. We invite you to attend an upcoming event,  A Conversation about Discrimination in Voting. Designed and facilitated by our Youth Council, this event will have a panel of speakers including Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, Ambassador Zeke Crofton-MacDonald of the Houlton Band of Maliseet, and Maine Equal Justice's Kate Brennan. Where are the bills? We know that you're siting on the edge of your seat waiting for bill titles to drop, right? This should happen any day now. Hopefully by the next time you read Under the Dome, we'll have LR numbers and titles to offer. In the meantime, you can see the bills as they are printed here

When you want to look up a bill, you can use this search feature. The League also provides bill tracking on our website, but only for bills specific to our priority areas.
